Performer Bio

Classically trained, Lucy went on to study Jazz (Chichester College, England) and South Indian classical music (Vijnana Kala Vedi, Kerala).  She is a seasoned performer with over 15 years of experience both as a soloist and within many different ensembles.

As a solo flautist she plays a wide selection of Jazz, South Indian music and Classical pieces, as well as her own subtle and beautiful arrangements of popular tunes.

She is currently working and performing with Brighton-based tabla artist Marc Clayton, combining Carnatic melodies with Hindustani rhythms.

She also performs as part of a jazz duo, accompanied either by
guitar or piano.

Previous performances have included:

- 3 month residency with The Pork Pie Hat Band (9 piece Jazz band), The Hobgoblin, Brighton.
- Festival performances including The Big Green Gathering and The Lewes
International Guitar Festival with Anapurna (7 piece Indo-fusion band).
- Headline performances with Anapurna and The Love Quartet
(4 piece Jazz band), The Komedia, Brighton.
- 3 month residency with The Love Quartet, The Mad Hatter, Brighton
Regular set as Jazz duo, The Tin Drum, Brighton.
- Solo and duo wedding performances in St Albans and Seattle, funeral in Sussex,
birthday party in Kent, 2 garden parties in Hampstead.
- Performances in Kerala, South India, solo and with Nada Laya (Indian classical/ fusion
ensemble) at various venues including Malliyoor Sree Mahagapathy temple,
Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan Art Gallery, Chengannur Maha Deva Temple and Evoor Temple.
- Gigs at The Chilli festival, The Hanover Centre and The Sanctuary Cafe with The Amrita Trio
(Indo jazz fusion).
-The Brunswick festival, with Marc Clayton.
